For one thing, it'd make Craftsman more powerful... it's happened more often than not (or perhaps I notice it more b/c it's more annoying) that I can't find the matching color cards in my hand for 2 differently colored, started buildings.... I believe having 6 different colors has something to do with that.

By contrast, Architect may be a 2-step process, but since you usually control what goes into your Stockpile, at least the uncertainty is removed there.
