I had no interest in Columbia. Zero in fact. Never registered on my radar. But after watching the demo-videos on Andean Abyss I was hooked. The system is great, and now I find the history on Columbia that comes with the game to be very fascinating. It's so much fun to play with 4 players, the pure chaos of AA is great. The trick as you find out is not to race to get to your Victory Conditions, as you become a huge target and the other 3 factions will team up on you, it is to lurk quietly in the shadows, build up slowly and then strike at the right moment.A Distant Plain plays a lot like AA, but the factions are unique enough that is like a new game. It is a little more team vs. team, Govt and Coalition vs. Warlords and Taliban, but only in the aspect as Govt can't attack Coalition. The way one messes with other factions seems more subtle in this game.
