The order in which battles are resolved, if there are more than one after a player's turn, is determined by that player - i.e. it is his choice. However, regarding the passing and subsequent battles, you are slightly mistaken. But the paragraph is easily misunderstood. So let me explain:
Once a player passes, all battles AFTER HIS TURN are resolved as usual (his choice).
Afterwards, the opponent can perform as many actions as he wants and is able to pay for (with additional goods). If, at any time during this "turn" of an undefined number of actions, a situation occurs in which a battle would have to be resolved, this battle is postponed until the second player has also passed.
Once the second player has also passed, all remaining battles are resolved. The order of resolution is once again determined by that player...
In general terms, you could say that, after one player has passed in his turn, the other player gets one very long turn (if he so wishes)...

Damn, this time Almecho was faster. And his answer is partially even better...
