Oh wow! I'm gonna get a $10 voucher to purchase another one of your products? You get to sell another game and I get a pissy $10 discount. How very magnanimous!
To be clear about the math, $10 is actually below what we sell a lot of games for to distributors (because typically, distributors pay something like 40% of MSRP, and many of our games are $13.50 MSRP, so you do the math) - so our intent was to actually
lose money on these transactions. My thinking was that if someone down under made a relatively big online purchase, and got free shipping as a result, they could essentially get a CGF game for free, or maybe even get a couple of bucks back. So that "pissy $10 discount" may well be more than the actual price you pay for the game.
I suggested this to Ed because we really can't afford to ship more than a hundred games from Boston, but wanted to do something nice for folks who are getting their game so late.
I trust (one day) to finally receive my copy of the game and I'm hoping the negative experience of this project won't forever sour my enjoyment, but time will tell. The disrespect you've shown to your Kickstarter backers is evidence you have scant regard for us at all.
I'm very sorry that you feel this way. It was my hope that folks down under would at least understand that despite losing money on this project, we are, in effect, throwing more money at it in order to try to make up for these long delays.
