I'm in the middle of painting my WOTR minis. You really need to prime. The plastic is very flexible and you need a prime layer that will adhere to the plastic - otherwise the paint will flake off. I'm not an experienced painter, just learning as I go, but I will advise you not to cheap out on the primer like I did. I went for the Krylon Fusion option - inexpensive hardware store paint. Still tacky a month after spraying. I painted over top and sealed with a non gloss sealant and they're fine now but the tackiness made the painting difficult and required the sealant spray. We're I to do it again I'd brush prime them.

Good luck!
