If you're set on getting only one I would go for RftG.GtR can at times become quite chaotic and frustrating (though the better player usually wins). RftG is loads of fun and you can try diiferent strategies (though with "just" the base game, there aren't quite as many paths to victory as later on).
But really, get both:D
