I own 1 copy of BattleMasters and 1 copy of Battle Lore and have considered the same.... My mashup included a copy of Crossbows and Catapults (yes, the disk-flinging game) to add what Battle Lore is missing, artillery. The concept is this:

BattleMasters provides the maps (I need 2 more maps for this to work) so that each map is a zone as well as some figures...

Battle Lore provides the dice and card system as well as the magic system.

Crossbows and Catapults provide the artillery system as well as more figures (Battle Lore is a figure hungry system. The siege engines will be controlled as the "Monsters" from Battle Lore. Rolling mana icons either stores mana for shots or can be used to move the engine. When an engine fires, you load a disk and fire away! Any hit on a hex containing units forces a die-roll. Units color destroys ALL units in the hex, flags disperse units from the hex. Dispersion works as retreat, but each figure MUST move to a different hex. (This creates multiple small units.

Add in figures from D&D mini's for actual monsters (stats provided by Battle Lore) and you have a VERY LARGE SCALE game.

Name: CrossLore and BattlePults!

If you actually try this, please post a session report and any work-throughs you have for the rules.
