Several questions came up around a strange siege scenario:My army was besieged in the Lorien stronghold, and consisted of two regulars, a leader and Gandalf the White. The Shadow's besieging army included 5 Nazgul. He played the "Dreadful Spells" event card, and after rolling five dice killed both of my regular units.
This is where the questions come up:
1. What happens to my leader, which is now only accompanied by Gandalf?
2. What happens to Gandalf? I argued that he survived, based on a paragraph I found in the rules (can't remember page #) that stated characters are "deviously difficult" to kill and usually can only die in a declared battle, which this was not. In fact, the Shadow player intentionally did not enter into battle with me, since he had only 3 army units himself and was aware of Gandalf the White's powers.
3. Do I retain control of the Stronghold without regular / elite units, since no battle took place? Does the Shadow player have to declare a battle to take the Stronghold, and if so what happens to my surviving unit(s)?
