Great tips! Thanks!But in 5b round , if you passes too early, you probably won't have enough hoplites to protect all of your cities, and the opponent could take a lot of them by siege.
To avoid this, I usually protect (with 5 hoplites) the small cities, which are easier to take by siege, and forget the big cities (spoiling its population) unless they have a project that give you points at the end of the game.
