I'm generally pretty wary of English assaults onto the continent since they're so close to military victory and those keys will be almost impossible to take from them (assuming they target ports). Even if messing up France is going to help me it's putting a power that can't really be militarily controlled within spitting distance of an auto victory.From England's side you're really relying on a sparsely defended target (which granted isn't that unlikely). Even if you run France out of cards it's tough to take a defended space with 5 guys and a 0/6 leader. If France sees you coming even a few mercenaries can make that a questionable proposition.
