No please-more details are always better than less.
Whether false hopes are given and then not met OR if no hopes are given and still not met-->its the same outcome.
Please give us updates with detail-->if you get slammed for missing deadlines thats not because your updates were bad; its cos the planning is/was bad.
The last thing I would hate to see is an ambiguous update.
It would be reminescent of the time when I was told that people had small email accounts and did not want more updates.
Smashing out updates will not waste time. Wasting time would be scapegoating the unnamed (seriously no need to name) chinese-speaking quitter.
