I totally empathize with the OP.No one in my group wants to play TI anymore due to Eclipse.
But Eclipse in no way scratches the itch for me that TI does.
They are almost not comparable to me, but everyone wants to compare them and say Eclipse is better because it's shorter.
They are different games!! They feel so different!!
TI is much much more deep, and I need that depth in a game sometimes.
sigh....
