There's also a problem with countering one specific card with some other card: the probability calculation isn't "are the odds of drawing the counter the same as the odds of drawing the power card" ... it's "given the power card is in play and being used, what are the odds you can get access to and use the counter".I like the power combos in GtR, and I like the cards which are powerful in special situations, but are sometimes weak. Power-wise I don't actually dislike Coliseum all that much either, but I really hate having clients "stolen".
In general I don't like counter-cards - I think providing them with reasonable odds that they can be drawn when needed can easily risk messing up the "game engine".
Fortunately in this case the solution is already available - we've been playing republic edition rules since the first time someone lost all their clients to it, and I got my "Republic Upgrade Kit" a little while ago, so the cards match the rules now :)
