To be fair, you could just think without kingmaking; thought that's obviously no fun for you. Not saying I would do that in your shoes (and I definitely didn't when I was in that situation), but there is something you could do without kingmaking... it's just a no-fun option for you.

That seems a bit extreme. Anyone who takes Glory to Rome too seriously is probably an idiot, but I think there's a significant difference there.
