I wouldn't exactly call it a "combo", but I've found that Production is deceptively one of the best, if not THE best strategy card in the game. So many people I see pick it as merely an extra 2 resources which is a very limited way of looking at it.You basically get:
+1 command counter since you don't need to spend one activating the system you build in
+2 trade goods (yeah yeah you have to immediately spend them as resources but still)
+1 extra turn of movement for ships in the system
Double production capacity of a space dock
It amazes me how many people pick stuff like Trade II (after all treaties are in play) thinking 3 trade goods is better, or Warfare II in order to reach Mecatol Rex first withotu realizing that Production also gives you a head start on the rush plus a bunch of other bonuses.
