So, after these two games, I'm glad I played solo.
It didn't feel like a game.
It felt like an interactive story, with a physical aspect to it.
I was watching the story unfold, troops and guerrillas moving and spreading.
I saw operations and events that changed the balance of power and wealth.
I was a participant, but not as active as I thought.
Maybe the fact that I was doing all the moves for the 3 other factions, and that my operations were 1/4 of everything I was doing, gave me that impression.
Still it was a great deal of fun!

I like the way you put that, an interactive story. Awesome.

Keep plugging at it. It will get very clear with practice. The only part that stops me and have to figure out is the Cartels portion of a certain activity (do not have papers in front of me) where you need to check if this, or this, or etc. But no worries, after realizing the cartels have x pieces for bases and guerrillas it's just a quick glance now and then move on.

The planning sheet is awesome! Once you roll for random location you can then follow the arrows until you come across the next available area that meets criteria. Or you can continue to roll the dice if you like using the Random City or Dept sheet as well.

After 3 solo plays and currently in a fourth one I am very pleased with the BOTS. You can not predict them and by the time it is your play you are reacting first then proactive to reinforce or prepare a future move (if you can).

I barely won the third solo game and currently the AUC just turned a dept over and eliminated FARC with one event play and random dept selection. The Govt is happy - my path to the forest has just been cleared!
