I had the same experience when I asked for my money back. He said that I'd have to wait until he generated more money through sales.Hi Van,
If you're dissatisfied with the delays and amount of updates enough to want a refund, I'll give you one. I'm sorry you feel that way, and I understand your frustration.
Currently, all the money is contractually promised to our manufacturer, but once the game has shipped, I 'll refund you out of the first sales. You'll still get links to the digital content, print & play, etc.

Here's what I sent him after he told me that, 2 days later (which was 3 weeks ago):
David-
It's not only the delays and lack of updates, it's also the fact that you're selling it cheaper to people who DIDN'T give you money last year, sans some "exclusive" cards. That in itself is insulting to people who helped you fund in the first place. If you truly believe in your game, why pre-sell it at a discount WITH free shipping? Yes, you're offering us wallpapers and a print-and-play, but if they haven't materialized yet, what's the point?
I think that a number of backers (possibly a small number) feel disregarded for those reasons. As I said in my post, you're not offering us anything else, much less exclusive content. I understand that things happen in your life and that you're not a big game company, but we paid you based on a promise of a game that seemed near completion. I personally wouldn't have backed it if I had known it would take this long, and that I could get it cheaper later.
In the end, I'm just not excited about the game anymore. I've backed a number of projects, but none have taken as long as yours, and none have been more insulting.
Good luck in the future though. Hopefully your game does well.
